Residence Hall Coordinator. The Residence Hall Coordinator plays an intricate role in fostering the creation of positive residential communities through leadership, supervision and staff development and manages a residence hall of 400 - 800 students.

Anticipated Opening for Fall 2008

This is approximately a 10-month live-in position providing a furnished apartment, tuition waiver, and a minimum starting salary of $2,500 per month with opportunities for summer employment.

Duties

  1. Provides training, development and supervision of graduate and paraprofessional staff.
  2. Utilizes student development and wellness models to direct staff in their programming efforts and assist students with adjustment issues.
  3. Promotes diversity and community building activities.
  4. Advises student government or special focus groups.
  5. Serves on a standing committee for the department.
  6. Adjudicates policy violations in conjunction with the judicial office.
  7. Assists with on call and 24 hour duty rotation for the area.
  8. Must have sensitivity to multicultural issues and support a diverse environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree (US equivalent, College Student Personnel or related area of study preferred) and two years part-time administrative experience required at time of hire. Employment contingent on criminal background investigation pursuant to Public Act 88-629.
