Environmental Sustainability Living Learning Community. The Environmental Sustainability Community is for students who have an interest in the environment.

This community provides you with the opportunity for academic support, career exploration, and integrated social experiences.

Students who have an interest in environmental sustainability should fill out an application. Floor programs and activities are geared toward your academic and career interests, and include opportunities for you to interact with faculty outside the classroom.

How to live on the Environmental Sustainability Floor

Students who have an interest in environmental sustainability and who are interested in participating and living in this community floor must complete the Environmental Sustainability Application.  Acceptance into the community is based on individual responses to the questions on the application.

The community offers many opportunities for academic and social interaction:

  • Interaction with faculty outside of the classroom
  • High-quality programming to enhance your discovery of the diverse field of Environmental Sustainability
  • In-hall academic advising before registration each semester
  • Study sessions for Environmental related classes
  • Opportunities to interact with professionals and alumni who are currently pursuing careers in Environmental related studies
  • Field trips to support career exploration in Environmental related studies
  • Personal and floor volunteer opportunities to share your increasing expertise in the Environmental field with the Bloomington-Normal community
  • Opportunities to meet and learn from juniors and seniors who are currently in the Environmental departments

Policy

  1. Be accepted through the application process.
  2. Abide by the quiet lifestyle policy 9:00 p.m.
  3. Attend two programs related to Environmental Studies or the major.
