Business Living Learning Community. The School of Business Community is for students majoring or minoring in a subject area in the School of Business.

Overall, the Business Community provides you with the opportunity for academic support, career exploration, and integrated social experiences.

Floor programs and activities are geared toward your academic and career interests, and include opportunities for you to interact with faculty outside the classroom.

How to live on the Business Floor

Students who are business majors and wish to live on the Business Lifestyle floor must complete the Business application for the lifestyle. Students who are currently living on the floor and wish to return are not required to fill out an application. Acceptance to the lifestyle is based on individual responses to the questions on the application.

The community offers many opportunities for academic and social interaction.

  • Interaction with faculty outside of the classroom
  • High-quality programming to enhance your discovery of the diverse field of Business
  • Study sessions for Business classes
  • Opportunities to interact with professionals and alumni who are currently pursuing careers in Business
  • Activities to support career exploration in the field of Business
  • Personal and floor volunteer opportunities to share your increasing expertise in the Business field with the Bloomington-Normal community
  • Opportunities to meet and learn from juniors and seniors who are currently in the Business department
  • Students living within the Business Themed Community will be allowed to enroll in section 04 of BUS 100 that meets from 9:35 to 10:50 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday in the fall of 2008 (conditional upon availability)Only students living in the Business Community will be allowed to enroll for this special section!

Policy

  1. Residents must attend two social programs each semester. 
  2. Residents must attend two business-related educational programs each semester.
  3. Failure to meet these requirements results in removal from the lifestyle floor.
