How do I sign up for my room and meals?

The procedure for signing up for your room and meal differs based on your current status as a student.

New students who graduated from high school in or after December 2006 are sent housing application-contract packets. Students who signed and returned the application-contract and deposit by the May 1st deadline are guaranteed a space in the residence halls. They will either be assigned a room by our office or will select their own room through the online room selection program depending on when we received their application-contract.  Students whose contracts were received after May 1st will be notified of their housing status.

New students who graduated from high school before December 2006 are considered Upper Level students (even if their ISU classification is "freshman" or "sophomore") and are not sent housing application-contract packets. These students may submit an online application to express their interest in living in the residence halls next year. These applications will be held throughout the summer and contracts will be offered to students should space become available.  These students are encouraged to secure off-campus housing.

Current residence hall students who graduated from high school in or after December 2006 but did not go through Contract Renewal may submit an online application to express their interest in living in the residence halls next year.  The online applications will be held throughout the summer and contracts will be offered to students depending on space availability. These students are encouraged to secure off-campus housing.

Current residence hall students who graduated from high school before December 2006 are considered Upper Level students (even if their ISU classification is "freshman" or "sophomore") and cannot go through contract renewal. These students may submit an online application to express their interest in living in the residence halls next year.  However, we have already offered over 350 students spaces from this list and do not anticipate offering anymore spaces. The online applications will be held throughout the summer and contracts will be offered to students in the event that space does become available.

Note:  University admission and enrollment do not guarantee the availability of on-campus housing.  Furthermore, a student must be registered at the University and must be at least 17 years of age at the time of commencement of his/her residence hall occupancy. Requests for exceptions to the minimum age requirement may be submitted to University Housing Services for review by the Director.  University Housing Services reserves the right to deny or cancel a residence hall application-contract to students whose past behavior and/or criminal record indicates a possible risk to the safety, health, or life of any person, and/or to the safety of public or private property, and/or disruption to the residence hall community or living-learning environment.
