Each year, Housing honors student leaders who have committed themselves to improving the university experience by awarding them with the scholarships listed below.

University Housing Services Student Employee Scholarship (pdf)

The University Housing Services Student Employee Scholarship is given annually to a student employed by University Housing who has demonstrated dependability, efficiency and excellence in providing quality services.  The scholarship award is for no less than $500.00.

Unity Coalition Scholarship (pdf)

The $500.00 Unity Coalition Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding Unity member currently residing in the Illinois State University residence halls.

Anna L. Keaton Memorial Scholarship (pdf)

The Keaton Scholarship is given annually to an outstanding female undergraduate student leader who has demonstrated leadership, scholarship, citizenship, and active participation in residence hall and campus activities.

Garrett Van Ausdall Memorial Scholarship (pdf)

The Van Ausdall Scholarship is given to an outstanding male undergraduate student leader who has demonstrated leadership, scholarship, citizenship, and active participation in residence hall and campus activities.

The Flora Thompson Manchester and Orson L. Manchester Scholarship (pdf)

Orson L. Manchester was a teacher, principal of the University High School and the Dean of Illinois State University for a total of 37 years. His wife, Flora, and all four of their daughters are U-High graduates. One of these daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Manchester Hall, was an Associate Professor of Education and Director of Publicity at Illinois State University for 30 years and the Alumni Director for another 15 years. The Manchester Scholarship is made possible by a gift from the daughters in memory of their loving parents. A selection committee of professional and paraprofessional staff in East Campus will award one $750.00 scholarship to a Manchester resident who has shown superior scholarship, citizenship, leadership, and participation in hall and campus activities.

Janice J. Auguston Memorial Award (pdf)

The Janice A. Auguston Memorial Award is given annually to an outstanding female currently employed as an Assistant Residence Hall Coordinator OR is an outstanding female senior (at the time of distribution) currently employed as an International Assistant in the residence halls. The memorial award is for $250.00 and may be awarded to more than one person. The award recipient will be announced in April/May and award checks will be issued within the first two months of the fall semester.
