The University may grant exceptions to student who are not required but would like to live on campus. Because University Housing Services must reserve space for students who are required to live on campus, we have a limited amount of exceptions available. You may learn more about the exception process on the Campus Housing Exceptions page.
Each year there are a number of students who are manually assigned rooms by University Housing Services. We will strive to assign this group according to preferences as much as possible dependent on space availability. Please enter preferences to be considered here.
The Single Occupancy Waiting List form is available for students to request a single living space for Fall 2014.

Watterson Towers, Haynie and Wright Halls will close for fall break on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. All students in these halls must vacate rooms by this time. Students may leave their personal belongings in the room; however, they must take whatever they need for the week while on break as no student will be allowed back into these halls for any reason during fall break. If you plan to attend the Redbird football game against Southern Illinois on Nov. 22 at 1 p.m., we ask that you vacate your room an hour after the game concludes. Only students attending the game should follow this timeframe. If you have a special circumstance to ask for a later time on Nov. 22, please speak to your Residence Hall Coordinator as soon as possible.
The residence halls will reopen at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30. Please make appropriate travel arrangements for your return to campus on or after this date and time.
Manchester, Hewett, Wilkins, and Cardinal Court will remain open over fall break for residents of these buildings.
Beginning on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 8:30 a.m., newly admitted students for the Spring 2015 semester can submit their university housing application-contract through the University’s personalized web portal system, Welcome2ISU. For more information, click here.
The University requires students to live in university housing their first two years out of high school. Students who fall under the University On-Campus Housing Policy will not be able to register for classes until University Housing Services receives their residence hall contract and initial payment. These regulations are applicable to all students insofar as space is available in University residence halls.
Spaces are still available for spring 2014 at Shelbourne apartments. These spaces are for students who are married or in domestic partnerships, students with dependents, graduate students, and qualifying upper class students. Submit an application today.

Mounted door knobs, mailbox doors, and room numbers from Atkin/Colby and Hamilton/Whitten residence halls are available for purchase and benefit the University Housing Services Student Employee Scholarship fund. Learn more.
