Policy Update

Due to safety reasons, hover boards (battery-operated self balancing scooters) are not permitted anywhere in University Housing and Campus Dining facilities effective immediately.

Residents will have until February 10, 2016 to remove their hover boards from housing facilities. Once this deadline has passed, hall staff will confiscate hover boards and students will receive a policy violation as well as be referred to the Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution office. Students will be able to collect their hover board as they leave campus.

Exemption Process

If you believe you have reason to live off campus but are required to live on campus, please learn more about the exemption process here.

Request to Live On Campus

The University may grant requests to students who are not required but would like to live on campus. Because University Housing Services must reserve space for students who are required to live on campus, we have a limited number of requests that can be approved. You may learn more about the request to live on campus process on the Housing Request to Live on Campus page.

Giancarlo Esposito to Speak at

Black History Cultural Dinner

University Housing Services is pleased to welcome veteran actor and social activist Giancarlo Esposito as the featured speaker for the Black History Cultural Dinner. Esposito is often recognized for his efforts in giving back to the student community.During his visit, Esposito will discuss the collegiate student’s main nonacademic responsibility: to get to know people who are different than you.

Attendees will learn more about why the “theater of college” as a microcosm of the world at large is a unique and valuable opportunity to learn about yourself, gain compassion for others, and make connections that make a difference. Esposito will also explain the parallels between Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing which debuted in 1989 and the racial tensions that still exist today almost 27 years later.
