Most, but not all, new students will select their own room through a Web-based room selection program. However, each year there are a number of students who are manually assigned by University Housing Services. Your selection method is determined by how soon we receive your application-contract. By mid-May, University Housing Services will notify each student regarding their assignment method.
For students selecting their own room, the online room selection process will run May 27 through June 27. Manual room assignments are made in July after the conclusion of the online room selection process on June 27.
If you believe you have reason to live off campus but are required to live on campus, please learn more about the exemption process here.
The University may grant exceptions to student who are not required but would like to live on campus. Because University Housing Services must reserve space for students who are required to live on campus, we have a limited amount of exceptions available. You may learn more about the exception process on the Campus Housing Exceptions page.

Students who fall under the University On-Campus Housing Policy will not be able to register for classes until University Housing Services receives their residence hall contract and initial payment. These regulations are applicable to all students insofar as space is available in University residence halls.
